The low-carbohydrate food movement gave birth to such diets as the Atkins, Paleo and Keto, which advised swapping foods like bread, pasta and potatoes for vegetables, fish and meat. More recently the trend of swapping spaghetti for vegetables has been 28 by clean-eating experts.
But now a 29 review and analysis of 30 studies by Canadian researchers found that not only does pasta not cause weight gain, but three meals a week can help people drop more than half a kilometer over four months. The reviews found that pasta had been unfairly demonized(妖魔化) because it had been 30 in with other, more fat-promoting carbohydrates.
“The study found that pasta didn’t 31 to weight gain or increase in body fat,” said lead author Dr John Sievenpiperj . “In 32 the evidence, we can now say with some confidence that pasta does not have an 33 effect on body weight outcomes when it is consumed as part of a healthy dietary pattern.” In fact, analysis actually showed a small weight loss. So 34 to concerns, perhaps pasta can be part of a healthy diet.
Those involved in the 35 trials on average ate 3.3 servings of pasta a week instead of other carbohydrates, one serving equaling around half a cup. They lost around half a kilogram over an average follow-up of 12 weeks.

26. [I] minimum
27. [L] shooting
解析:“prevent fat build-up and stop blood sugar 27 up”,由空格前的stop确定此处填动词的ing形式; shoot up是固定搭配,意为“猛增”,带入原文表示阻止血糖激增。
28. [B] championed
解析:“More recently the trend of swapping spaghetti for vegetables has been 28 by clean-eating experts”,空格前面的has been和后面的by确定此处是被动语态,填动词的过去分词;联系上下文,把意面换成蔬菜的饮食方式是会被那些推崇清洁饮食的专家推崇的,故选[B] championed。
29. [N] systematic
解析:“But now a 29 review and analysis of 30 studies by Canadian researchers found that...”
30. [G] lumped
解析:“The reviews found that pasta had been unfairly demonized because it had been 30 in with other, more fat-promoting carbohydrates”,空格前had been确定此处要填动词过去分词;前半句讲意大利面被妖魔化,后面解释妖魔化的原因,它会经常地跟易使人发胖的食物化为一类,故选[G] lumped。
31. [E] contribute
解析:“The study found that pasta didn’t 31 to weight gain or increase in body fat”,空格前didn’t和后面to确定此处填动词原形;联系上下文,前文讲到意面被妖魔化很不公平,后面佐证这种不公平。
32. [O] weighing
33. [A] adverse
解析:“we can now say with some confidence that pasta does not have an 33 effect on body weight outcomes”,空格前的an和后面的名词effect确定此处填发音是元音开头的形容词,只有adverse能选;意面并没有负面作用,与文章逻辑相符。
34. [D] contrary
解析:“So 34 to concerns, perhaps pasta can be part of a healthy diet.”,根据文章逻辑来做,前文一直讲,人们妖魔化意面,对吃意面有顾虑;后面研究发现意面是健康饮食的一部分。
35. [C] clinical
解析:“Those involved in the 35 trials on average ate 3.3 servings of pasta a week instead of other carbohydrates”,空格前the和空格后的名词trial确定此处是形容词;联系上下文,trial是试验,clinical trials临床试验。
